Kam Falk

Biography

A native of Chicago, Kam Falk began studying piano at the age of seven.
In addition, Kam began playing the cello two years later, and continued to study both
instruments throughout high school and college.

Kam continued to immerse himself in music, picking up the
bass guitar at age 14 and developing a deep affection for jazz.
At 17, he began playing bass professionally.

In 1987, Kam graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville,
majoring in music theory and composition, then relocated to South Florida
and began the Studio Jazz Writing program at the University of Miami.
Prior to completion, however, he left school to take a position
traveling around the globe as the keyboardist in a jazz trio. Ports of call included
Egypt, The United Arab Emirates, Asia, Africa, India, Indonesia, Australia, Papua New
Guinea and more.

He began composing and recording the material for his solo debut, NATIVE
TONGUE, in 1990. During the decade that followed, he met many of the
twelve stellar guests who would appear on the enhanced CD. NATIVE TONGUE
was released in 2002. Following its release, Kam continued to produce
and arrange CD's and enhanced CD's for other artists, including Mike
Corbin's 'ACOUSTIC WARRIOR,' Marcel Morejon's 'ESPIRITU' and David
Gregorisch's 'DISSECTING THE FROG.' He has also been a featured guest
on several releases, such as John Mascaro's 2001 release entitled,
'RESTORATION,' and the 2008 Dorian Vaz release, 'SEPIA.'

2007 marked the completion of Kam's "Belliger Symphony."
The Belliger Symphony was written in three movements and is a tribute to
those who lost their lives in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kam completed his masters degree in commercial music near the end of 2009.
He also has a new CD entitled, 'RETRO-RESPECT,' which features 11
special guests performing 10 carefully chosen selections by some of this
generation's most influential music icons including Stevie Wonder,
Steely Dan, Elton John, Eric Clapton and many more. RETRO-RESPECT
features Kam producing, arranging, engineering and performing on both
bass and keys, as well as a few vocal tracks.
