BIOGRAPHY
The Gathering Mist is for the most part the solo project of percussionist/composer Jeff Willet. A graduate of the Music Recording Technology program at Lebanon Valley College in central PA, Jeff started his college career at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Jeff has written articles w/videos for SickDrummerMagazine.com, played with orchestras, drum lines, marching bands, wind ensembles, percussion ensembles, progressive metal bands, jazz-fusion groups, rock bands, and session work with the tech-death/grind-core band Aborted Existence. The Gathering Mist's albums focus on world percussion with layering, odd time signatures, and polyrhythms, all while still working in plenty of melodies, harmonies and interesting combinations of timbres of wind and string instruments from very talented guest musicians to the mix. The albums are entirely instrumental, to avoid the forever-looming comment, "well, I like the music, but I'm not too sure about that singer of yours..." Jeff is available for lessons and session work (contact through JeffWilletMusic@gmail.com).
