Tony Mecca writes and performs songs about people and personalities. Real people that is, and genuine life experiences like love and longing, growing-up, working and watching life play itself out. In reviews his songs and sound has been compared to Springsteen, Petty, Mellencamp, Elvis Costello, Smash Mouth, Leonard Cohen and Ray Davies. In a poll conducted on his web site his fans were ask to describe Tony and his sound. Among the many one-liners, “The bastard son of Huey Lewis and Joni Mitchell” and “The Who fronted by John Prine” were voted the favorites.
