notes

Greg Barnhill, a native of New Orleans, is nothing short of a musically creative powerhouse. His move to Nashville in 1985 was a natural progression of his songwriting ability and his desire to grow as a musical artist. He has since gained the respect of his professional peers in his ability to craft a brilliant song and deliver it vocally with an undeniable force.

Barnhill's Grammy-nominated song, "Walkaway Joe," was recorded by Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley in 1993. Since then, Greg's songs have been embraced by many other famed Nashville recording artists including Tim McGraw, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Lonestar, Martina McBride, Bryan White, Etta James, Ty Herndon, John Berry, Shereé Austin, Pam Tillis and Lee Ann Womack.

Greg's emotionally charged voice is powerful yet fragile, strong yet brimming with emotion. His seemingly endless personal energy and exceptional guitar playing is enjoyed by audiences worldwide as he has shared the stage with the likes of Kim Carnes, Michael McDonald and The Neville Brothers.

Greg's voice has been heard on many movie soundtracks and TV shows including "Today Show," "The View," "Baywatch," "Growing Pains," "Murphy Brown," "Touched by an Angel," and "Murder She Wrote."

Greg's newest album, "No Chaser" displays his talent as a multi-genre musician and performing songwriter. This gutsy and poignant recording represents an amazingly eclectic array of pop, rock, R&B and country music. Greg's fans have described his music as "smoothly satisfying" and "energetically contagious."

Alongside his musical talents, Greg is also a working actor and recently co-starred in the musical "American Duet" by acclaimed playwrights, Marcus Hummon and Bill Feheely.

Greg, My favorite song is "The Waiting Game". Who exactly are you waiting for and why? If you love someone, why would you wait to be with them. Interesting! Will you email me back? Oh, sorry I didn't give you 4 stars, but I'm kind of a critic when it comes to music. I've written a few songs too. Keep writing... Ash

This long-awaited collection is awesome. Greg has the most amazing way of expressing himself. My two favorite songs are The Waiting Game and Remember When...in which the Favorite lyric is...the conversation steered away from the casual pause. Very Original and very Greg! Thanks Greg...looking forward to more!

    author: Robert Marlow

Flows effortlessly from smooth ballads to blues to pop to just about any style you can think of. "You put the Hurt on Me" is my favorite--great song sung with true emotion. You can just feel the passion when he sings. Get this CD, you will wear it out!

  • Great singer and artist
    author: Peter Borza

Greg Barnhill is a superstar singer and he has inpressed me with his vocals on different soundtracks. Finally a record in his own name, I think it´s amazing and what also amazes me is that no major label has picked up this wonderful artist.

  • Excellent album, vocally, lyrically and musically!!!
    author: Lydia Smith

From the slow sultry blues of Watchin' The River Go By, to his kick-ass version of House of Love, this is and excellent album vocally, lyrically and musically. Greg's voice allows you to remember the passion of a brand new love affair, find a spark of hope for love on the rocks, or feel the angst of unrequited love. Whatever the emotion, you FEEL it when he sings and it is that ability that sets him apart from most other singer/songwriters. Turn your friends onto No Chaser and they'll think you're a superhero...

  • He's one of the best singer/songwriters you'll ever hear!
    author: Buzz Jackson

This guy is an amazing singer/songwriting talent. His songs are about life situations you may have lived through and others you'd like to experience first hand. He has a soul-drenched, jazz, pop singing style with a range few other vocalists can achieve. His songs are powerful and light. This studio version with the artist accompanying himself on acoustic guitar is like you're in the same room listening to him playing these great songs. It is my favorite CD to play in the car. You'll want to turn your friends on to this great find. Very cool stuff!
