The kind of rich, sweet voice that you can't get enough of. She comes from a place that is steeped in country music tradition and now she's carrying it on. Like Patty Loveless or Alison Krauss, she's a country singer who sounds like one.

notes
After landing her 2006 release, Never Looking Behind, onto Americana Highway’s top 30 albums of the year list, Reagan Boggs delivers Right Now. The songwriter hails from a coal mining community in Southwest Virginia. With roots still firmly planted in those hills, she tells the story of “Clifton Branham,” Appalachian bad man via his own memoirs, and details a woman’s nightmare of strip-miners disrupting the resting dead after a pressured sale of her family’s land in “The Graves.” She pours out her heart through the eyes, ears, and fears of two young children living daily in an abusive home in “Ready to Run;” and again through the reflections of a middle-aged wife who struggles to find happiness in a comfortable, yet empty marriage in “Plastic Flowers.” Right Now is a collection of songs dealing with the light and darkness of everyday reality, composed in descriptive detail, and sung with the depth and emotion that is Reagan Boggs.
"Reagan Boggs is a fantastic songwriter, and powerful singer. 'The Graves' (track 9) is brilliant, edgy Americana and 'Mixed Signals' (track 10) sounds like the Ronstadt repertoire from 1973. This disc may be your most pleasant discovery of the year!"

Refreshing! What a relief.
author: Sue FriddleWhat a great singer! Does sound like Linda Ronstadt. (That's a good thing, Linda has some of the best pipes on the planet). Great music, & songs. I wish you were on the radio.
Honey, you done it again!
author: Cheryl BrewerHoping this brings me fully out of my deep, dark depression! And I know it can! Already down to listening to number 6 and love them all! (No doubt I will love the rest, too!) Now I gotta a decision to make.........HOW MANY to buy? Everyone needs to buy this new one and all the old ones, too, if available! You will NOT be disappointed. Way to go Reagan and guys! Great writing, great music, leading to the making of history! (Thanks for letting me watch and enjoy, and Thank God for letting me be here to love it !) Hope to catch up to y'all real soon! Love and hugs, Cheryl P.S. I'll let you know if any of these make me cry, like a couple of your older ones, but hey, there are good cries, too! : )
Right Now
author: TadThis may be be the best album I've heard all year. I mean from track 1 to track 12, there is no dead tune. Just when you think there might be, a few words roll in, a guitar lick here a drum kick there, the cry of a violin, and you stay hooked. It's easy to enjoy this lady's vocals, but I'm as impressed by her writing. Again - Every song is strong, and I it appears Reagan Boggs is the author of all but the last. Briefly on each song -- 1. Ready to Run - The lead track and flat scary, drums will knock you down as will the topic, kids listening to the battering of their own mother. 2. Clifton Branham - In the synopsis above she states this story to be a true one of an outlaw in the Appalachians. It's done in first person, makes you think you might be hearing Baez do Dylan or the Band. 3. Right Now - Just pretty. Should be on every Country station's top 10. 4. Next Time Around - Catchy hook. Seems to be a positive song about failure. Unique. 5. West End - One that took a couple plays. Her vocals kept me listening enough to listen deeper to these lyrics, may be the best writing on the CD. 6. You Say You Want Me - This song comes out of nowhere and when you look back on the whole project, it makes this thing work. It rocks, it surprises, and it breaks up the fineness without being too much. 7. Plastic Flowers - Sad song that I'd say many women could relate to. The words "dusts the plastic flowers" screams way too loudly the way some relationships become. 8. Lying Bastard - This girl is not afraid to sing sweet, sad songs, and then throw out anger. Being a man, these words scare me, you can only listen. 9. The Graves - Cool banjo entry on this song. It's a great story as well as good harmonies. Almost has the feel of an old southern gospel number. 10. Mixed Signals - This song is so well written. I think as clever at saying things most people have experienced at one time or another in a relationship. Maybe the best line on the album "I carry an umbrella on your sunshiny day." 11. Wait a Minute - The only cover best I can make out. It's a good one. This girl can really sing and the harmonies on this song are real nice. There you have it. I was turned on to this artist by a pal in NY, and I very glad. It's a keeper!

Sometimes you just know
author: James WilliamsThis album has it all-warmth, texture, heart and soul all wrapped up in THAT voice which hints of others but is singularly Reagan. An artist to believe in-I bought it without hearing it first-sometimes you just know how good it will be...Long may she continue!
