notes
Brian Gari has been in the music business for over 30 years. He got his first song published at 15 at Kama Sutra Music and had his first song recorded at 17. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Lesley Gore and the Tokens and he has worked with Jan and Dean, Ronny & the Daytonas, Petula Clark, Lou Christie, Ronnie Spector, John Phillips and many more. He has several albums out of his own Jimmy Webb/Rupert Holmes type songs, but BRIAN SINGS WILSON is his first dedicated to only Brian Wilson.
His love for Brian's music has been evident in his articles throughout the years as well as a rare recording for a Japanese label of MY BUDDY SEAT. The unusual songs on BRIAN SINGS WILSON have been painstakenly reconstructed from Brian Wilson's original ideas and arrangements. Hal Blaine, Van Dyke Parks and Tony Asher have all raved about the album. This includes the full versions of music heard on The E True Hollywood Story of the Beach Boys.

This Brian CD worth a listen!
author: Les ChanThis CD has some beautiful versions of some Wilson classics. Gari's vocals and arrangements are well done. I really like Thinkin' 'Bout You Darlin' and Busy Doing Nothin'. Add this one to your Brian Wilson and Beach Boys collection and you won't be disappointed.
Great new versions of great songs.
author: Gerald WEISELI love this album. Beautiful new arrangements of familiar songs. Well conceived and executed.
Brian Wilson's music shown in a new light
author: SundiegoJCBrian Gari shows a music scholar's authenticity and a true love of the music in creating new arrangements of these songs. He draws from both his fertile imagination and a variety of original and alternate versions of these songs to create something that is both comfortingly familiar and surprisingly fresh and new. Both Brians should be pleased with this work!
