notes
Steppin' Out Magazine said "Liz proves you can run the gamut of emotions with only a voice and an acoustic guitar." Her lyrics have been credited with reviving the art of storytelling while her stories weave us through our challenges and relationships like an unassuming friend.
Prior to concentrating on her solo career, Liz spent many years studying both operatic and contemporary vocals, classical guitar, piano, violin and cello. During high school she lived in a small northwestern town in Russia, where she became an avid songwriter. This collection of songs was written during that time.
In 1998, Liz formed her own record label, Naked Noise Records in order to release her debut "different bodies, different places" on a larger scale. Now nearly finished with her second full-length release, Liz is busy performing at least twice a week.

Not your typical 'woman w/ guitar'
author: Davey HavokFirst off, what a beautiful voice! The lyrics were real, not whiny, dealing with many different subjects. It's more poetry with music for harmony than guitar and lyrics.
LIZ CAPRA - Different Bodies, Different Places - - Song Profiles ( 10 )
author: Jett Black / Nocturnalmovements.netLIZ CAPRA - Different Bodies, Different Places - - Song Profiles ( 10 ) >- - ->> TRACK LIST : >- - ->> 1 . "Maybe" : -- Your traditional "angry chick" song. This one is a description of the frustration a woman feels in trying to be a sexual being without being constantly harassed by men. A good one for any man to gain a little insight into our reaction to cat-calling, etc. (No, really, we LOVE it). >- - ->> 2 . "Going... Going... Gone" : -- A poem about feeling lost in a world which so often pre-determines our fate for us, and the responsibility that comes with ignoring that fate and finding your own path. >- - ->> 3 . "Leap Year" : -- a tongue-in-cheek commentary on our culture's fascination with idolotry - from religion to government to relationships. >- - ->> 4 . "So, Today I Sing" : -- a song about loss, mourning, and rebirth. >- - ->> 5 . "The Jump" : -- inspired by a dream the writer (Ethan Sparks) had, dealing with the always present truth "you don't know what you've got until it's gone." A song about moving beyond selfishness to gain a little perspective. >- - ->> 6 . "Blood and Water" : -- You know that person you love to hate? Can't get enough of, but can't stand? - About a relationship rooted in physical attraction and headed, full speed, towards a brick wall. Fun for the moment, anyway. >- - ->> 7 . "Tame The Flame" : -- I wrote this my first month in a new country, completely alone and terrified. It's a song about feeling small and still trying to make your mark. >- - ->> 8 . "Lose Your Sight" : -- Like most who grew up in the Catholic church, I've found a lot of hypocrisy in what I'd been taught and reality. (My reality, anyway). Set to a Russian polka meets hip-hop score, the lyrics of this song are rooted in my modern twist on the catechism. >- - ->> 9 . "Moonlight" : -- the LOVE song (you knew there had to be one). >- - ->> 10 . "8 Years" : -- a woman looking back on a childhood molestation. Performed in a haunting a capella. >- - ->> Liz Capra >- - ->> TourBaby Legs : 1-5 >- - ->> http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/capra >- - ->> http://www.nakednoiserecords.com >- - ->> -- >- - ->> Jett Black, >- - ->> http://www.TourBaby.com/ >- - ->> Helping Musicians Help Themselves! >- - ->> http://www.NocturnalMovements.net/

author: AjI absolutly love this music. Vocals and guitar. Absolutly beautiful and truthful. "Beauty is truth/ truth, beauty" --Keats? ::hopes that he has the quote right:: I really don't have words to describe it. It is just awsome...which really doesn't give much to the imagination, sorry...but it's just great, and beautiful, and worderful.

Beautiful!
author: CharlyHer music is awesome! She has a poetic way of saying exactly how each person feels at some point in their life. She makes some bold statements about the world as it is, but all of them are honest. I love the CD!
Honesty.
author: EthanOne night i was minding my own buisiness, drinking my coffee, when this chick with a guitar started setting up her gear where i was sitting. After hearing a few sets, i broke down and bought her cd. It now has a happy home in my car cd changer. I consider those the creme of my collection. I found the lyrics to be honest and personal. By sharing so much, her messages are easy to relate to. Love the cd!
