Customer Service Supervisor - HostBaby

We are now hiring for a Customer Service Supervisor for HostBaby Customer Support. If you’re excited by the idea of helping great independent artists make a living doing what they love without giving control of their careers over to people or companies that only care about the bottom line, then CD Baby is the place for you.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma.
  • Bachelors in computer science or 3 years experience supporting web services and websites or developing web sites.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years customer support related experience and 1 year customer support supervisory experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of web hosting support or design experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment preferred.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • Actively support the team in ways that ensure the highest quality support possible for our customers: prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, handle escalated client contacts, proactively communicate and make recommendations regarding internal service roadblocks, process inefficiencies, and team performance and needs to Director of Support.
  • Communicate goals and provide feedback and support to team members regarding expected performance, as well as personal career development.
  • Proactively manage team to maintain queues - exceeding metric expectations.
  • Handle overflow calls and tickets.
  • Maintain excellent communication with customer and accurately document steps in internal CRM system.
  • Accurately complete data entry of client information and issue details for escalation to system administrators and development team.
  • Act as primary owner of internal and external Wiki documentation.
  • Assist in the further development and implementation of customer support training plan.
  • Coordinate CS involvement in the QA process for new product releases.
  • Report weekly performance stats.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Must be on time, and have good attendance.
  • Follow proper security guidelines to ensure safety procedures are followed according to company policies.

Required Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of CSS/XHTML - other languages a plus.
  • Expert knowledge with setting up and troubleshooting the following:
    • FTP on Mac and PC
    • Email clients on Mac and PC
    • Domain transfers
    • Wordpress site installs/upgrades
    • Migrating web sites and databases between servers
    • Basic Unix command line skills
    • Basic understanding of web services: Apache, MySQL, PHP, JavaScript, SSL, PHP MyAdmin
  • Must have excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Must be professional, patient, helpful, and friendly on the phone and in writing.
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex technical ideas into simple, understandable terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment - including the ability to motivate others .
  • Accurate typing skills of 30-40 wpm minimum.
  • Positive attitude and passion for music and the arts.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Familiarity with DNS management including changing DNS settings at a registrar and troubleshooting DNS issues.
  • Basic PhotoShop or other photo editing skills.
  • Musical background and/or experience working in music industry a plus.
  • Some experience in audio and video encoding/formatting.
  • Cookie baking skills = bonus points.

Experience Required:

  • 3+ years in a marketing management position.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • Integration of content activities within email, web, and social marketing campaigns.
  • Keyword Research to enhance SEM/SEO for all CDB web properties.
  • Optimize content for search engines and social media.
  • Mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy is a must.
  • Conducting ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness. Gathering data and handle analytics (or supervise those who do) and make recommendations based on those results. Working with owners of particular content to revise and measure particular content and marketing goals.
  • Build multi-branded email communications calendar within offer framework as specified by Director of Marketing.
  • Devise and manage A/B test strategies to optimize web properties for conversion.

  • Manage writing projects from concept to completion, including information gathering, content development, review, editing, proofreading and final publication.
  • Working with team members to revise and measure particular content and marketing goals.
  • Coordinate with creative teams to develop effective online initiatives to drive traffic, awareness and revenue.
  • Manage ad hoc marketing programs and campaigns as needed.

Special Skills Required:

  • Must have a solid understanding of content marketing and analysis.

Web Developer

We have a great career opportunity available for an experienced web developer to join our HostBaby development team.

Education:

  • BS/MS Computer Science preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years as a web developer.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, maintain, and develop current and new web products and processes for those products
  • Make architecture decisions for applications’ JavaScript resources, consulting with the team and manager
  • Exhibit a high level of respect for team members and be focused on team development
  • Act as the team’s day-to-day JavaScript go-to
  • Maintain a high quality of code with the team by following (and giving input on) code style and structure guidelines
  • Help fix bugs and resolve issues for existing web hosting customers in a team-wide ticketing system rotation
  • Conduct / perform new code releases and updates in a team-wide rollout rotation
  • Support team product development activities such as daily scrum standups and project planning meetings, leading them where needed or appropriate.
