Product Owner

CD Baby has a great opportunity for a Product Owner to join our Development team. The Product Owner represents CD Baby and BookBaby stakeholder interests and works closely with development as part of an agile development process. In this role, you will lead the tactical implementation of product development as well as working with the key business stakeholders and Product Manager to define overall product requirements, vision and long-term strategic roadmap.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to define and prioritize the product backlog and product roadmap for the CD Baby and BookBaby brands.
  • Maintain product vision and release plan, and communicate that with the scrum team.
  • Frequently re-prioritize backlogs based on stakeholder feedback, market changes, business priority and available resources.
  • Actively manage stakeholders requirements and expectations through each project.
  • Hold team accountable to their commitments and accept or reject the scrum team’s work at the close of each sprint.
  • Attend all required Scrum meetings including: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint review.
  • Provide the team with clear information regarding who the end user is and: how, when, and why they use the product or service.
  • Create detailed, thoughtful and actionable requirements including functional specifications, UI designs, workflow diagrams etc.
  • Establish success criteria for key product features using meaningful metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with developers during sprints. Clarify requirements and make timely decisions on execution details.

Development Manager, HostBaby

HostBaby was established in 2000 by the same folks who brought you CD Baby indie music distribution. HostBaby lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (Portland, OR), where art and music rises from basements, galleries, studios and venues across the land. We created HostBaby to give independent musicians, authors and artists the tools they need to grow their careers online.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on development leader to join the talented and diverse HostBaby team in our downtown Portland development office.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a team of 6+ developers.
  • Organize complex workloads and match tasks to appropriate resources.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business goals, provide high-level estimates, and suggest technical options to maximize value.
  • Participate in strategic product planning and maintain roadmap for platform/infrastructure development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Deep and recent FOSS development experience (7+ years).
  • Intimate familiarity with the LAMP stack, PHP v5+ and MySQL/PostgreSQL and proficiency with Git.
  • 2+ years successfully leading development teams using agile methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of HTTP/S, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, and some knowledge of web hosting’s nuts and bolts: DNS, WHOIS, registries etc.
  • Significant experience with another scripting language used on *nix systems (Perl, Ruby, Python, Bash).

Receiving Clerk

We have a new opportunity for a Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • Verify box counts and sign for inbound shipments.
  • Open, sort, prep for receipt, scan/ingest, and deliver inbound shipments and mail to appropriate stations or offices.
  • Receive all products accurately into inventory.
  • Putaway all products following receipt and/or digitizing.
  • Resolve receiving issues, in consultation with team as needed, as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Participate in kickoffs, meetings, training, and projects as requested.
  • Establish and maintain clean and safe workstation and other work areas.
  • Refurbish inbound products as required.
  • Rotate through receiving department responsibilities/stations as required.

Customer Service Supervisor - HostBaby

We are now hiring for a Customer Service Supervisor for HostBaby Customer Support. Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma.
  • Bachelors in computer science or 3 years experience supporting web services and websites or developing web sites.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years customer support related experience and 1 year customer support supervisory experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of web hosting support or design experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment preferred.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • Actively support the team in ways that ensure the highest quality support possible for our customers: prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, handle escalated client contacts, proactively communicate and make recommendations regarding internal service roadblocks, process inefficiencies, and team performance and needs to Director of Support.
  • Communicate goals and provide feedback and support to team members regarding expected performance, as well as personal career development.
  • Proactively manage team to maintain queues - exceeding metric expectations.
  • Handle overflow calls and tickets.
  • Maintain excellent communication with customer and accurately document steps in internal CRM system.

  • Design, maintain, and develop current and new web products and processes for those products
  • Make architecture decisions for applications’ JavaScript resources, consulting with the team and manager
