Album Notes

The 2005 re-release of "As Tall As The Sky" is an eclectic mix of melodic, indie-pop treasures, from the revved-up "Marilyn County" to the tongue-n-cheek tragedy "Someone's In The House" to the dark and seductive "Take This Town." The clever production, sweet melodies, rich instrumentation, and big vocal harmonies become the common threads that weave these crafty tunes together--keeping it fun and fresh with each repeat listen.

Did we mention the record features over 20 of the biggest rock stars in Bloomington, Illinois? And, yes, they like The Beatles.

100 Year Picnic "As Tall As The Sky" was originally released and distributed in August 2001 at a summer picnic of close family and friends. Lucky for us, it is now being re-released to the public with 3 bonus tracks that originally appeared on an even earlier EP.

Here's what people said about that earlier EP:

"A well thought out, emotional album."
20 YRS, M, DRUMMER

"Enjoyed the album--could definitely clean house to it."
44 YRS, F, DIVA

"I liked it."
18 YRS, M, CREATIVE WRITER

"If I listened to that type of music, I would buy it."
16 YRS, M, STREET PHARMACIST/BASKETBALL PLAYER

"Lots of talent!!!"
63 YRS, M, RETIRED

"Sounds like Wayne Newton sittin' in with the Foo Fighters."
42 YRS, M, COMPOSER OF DUCK HUNTING VIDEOS

"WOW! I'm blown away! Can I have your autograph?"
50 YRS, M, THE LEAD SINGER'S UNCLE

100 Year Picnic is the talk of Marilyn County! And we all hate Mary Faye Tucker for ruining our vacation every other year, but we sure do love the song! Kids -- you need to check out this CD. It’s fun, it’s catchy, it’s eclectic, it’s creative, and I dig it.

The guys in this band write catchy hooks and hummable songs, none more so than Marilyn County. Take a listen and help these guys out by buying a copy or three for your indie-minded friends...

The melodies are over-the-top interesting, and the songs have awesome hooks with full, rich vocal harmonies and powerful instrumentation! I cannot say enough about the songwriting on this album! After hearing As Tall As The Sky by 100 Year picnic, I can’t do anything but heartily recommend that you buy it, and hear it for yourself! Creativity and talent like this don’t always fall into place, and you owe it to yourself to hear an album that has an almost magical quality! Read the full review...
