Degradation Portrait

by 12 Step Program

The music is catchy yet brutal. It combines driving guitar dynamics with a deep, kick driven, pounding backbeat and searing vocals that go from screaming to melody to produce a hardcore/metal hybrid that appeals to everyone.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
" 12 STEP PROGRAM " is a hard hitting fuelcore quintet that rose from Worcester, MA. VIA 1998 ( After swamping their way through a few different lineups the current fusion of individuals came together in mid-2004 and they have been changing the face of 'core music with every new song that they write.

They made their initial impact on the scene in late 2001, nearly a three years after they first formed, when they released their first 6 song EP, "Friday the Thirteenth". The release allowed them to explode on the Massachusetts metal scene leaving many bruised bodies in their wake. Their sound showed the perfect mix of early 90's fuelcore and modern metal that ignited audiences. They paired this sound with an unmatched live show which showed unparalleled agression and energy and used these qualities to set themselves apart from the rest of the pack.

The next step was to show their progression as musicians and performers as they worked their way into a headlining act. After selling out of their initial run of their debeut EP, they decided to redefine their sound with a new barrage of songs that took the band in a more melodic direction. They mixed in this new element with catchy verses and pounding choruses that added even more to their potent onslaught onstage. Lineup changes from early 2003 to early 2004 prevented them from releasing another album.

Now that they have re-solidified their lineup " 12 STEP PROGRAM " is making metal history as their new brand of 'core in exciting crowds across the northeast.

It only takes a few minutes of listening to let you know that this is not just another band without a clue. These guys have made a cd that is outstanding. If they had the support of helpless bands like Godsmack and Limp fucking bizkit, there would be no stopping them. There is serious talent here and I hope the right people recognize it. They have the ability to play fast or slow and hold your undivided attention the entire time. Far from being a one dimensional album with a ton of "filler" between the good parts. This shit is intense throughout. And to the band, please make more cd's.
