notes

They’re hard rock with a hint of progressive melodies splashed with a smidge of metal. No matter where this band resides in the world of rock, 12TONE has at least one or two tracks that are sure to rock your donkey. Formed in 2001, 12TONE has been building their following through gigging and exposure on the internet. Their debut album, Vertigo, was released in 2003 and since then has been well received by fans and critics alike. This album is a reflection of what transpires when a group of musicians meld the influences of Tool, The Mars Volta, Led Zeppelin, Tower of Power, Gentle Giant, Clutch, and Spyro Gyra into something fresh and out of the ordinary.

12TONE's lyrics, primarily appear angry and serious in tone, with loads of wordplay mixed in. Each title track conveys an underlying story or some aspect of surreal imagery. But, if asked to reveal the meaning behind any track, 12TONE’s lead singer Wayne, will tell you the story or imagery in every song is entirely up to what each individual listener perceives.

Together, lead singer/guitarist Wayne Rudell, guitarist Brian Gold, bassist Joey Rudell, and drummer Daniel “the ranchero” Graves continue to push on with 12TONE’s “classic meets modern” aggressive sound. 12TONE are genuine individuals, striving for musical excellence in what they do. Be sure to check them out at their next live show and bring your donkeys for rockin’.

As I listen to this CD, I hear all types of beats which make for good music. They use all styles of beats and chordes. You do not find that in many bands. It is great

  • Challenge: To stop listening.
    author: Chris Scott SV, AZ

As said above, I offer a simple challenge: to stop listening to this CD. I bought it (as they are from my home town) and the hooks, the percussion, the singing are all so well done that one just can't wait to hear Wayne offer up his sweet poetry in Amnesia once more... 5 stars, because 6 would break the system.

  • This CD rocks the house
    author: Jay

I haven't heard a CD that I liked all the songs in a long while.. but this one just rocks. From the first track to the last, it's great music. I haven't taken it out of my cd player in weeks.
