151 Proof was founded in the rich tradition of " Philly Soul".Sonny Bey has toured the world from Philadelphia,Pa with stops in the UK,Japan,Nova Scotia,Germany, Korea,Honduras,Spain,Italy,Greece,Australia,Turkey,Hong Kong,Indonesia,the Philippines,Singapore,Hawaii,Alaska,Malaysia,Jamaica, and Guam.Sonny Bey adept on drums moved to Phoenix,Az and formed 151 Proof.Sonny Bey has performed professionally for over 40 years,starting with Garnet Mims at the age of 16.Two years later he formed the "Interpretations"and had his first record "Snap-Out" go gold selling over 750,000 units.He has also performed with such great talents as Barbara Mason, the Mad Lads, Brenda and the Tabulations. Sonny Bey was the band leader and drummer for"Blue Magic',was the drummer on the "Frankie Smith "album, "Double Dutch";also toured with Rick James"Street Tour"and toured the world for three years with the "Stylistics".151 Proof delights their fans with a sound style mixed from"Old School" days with a touch of "Today" added for the "Flava"!
