Since they started in 2000, 18o1 has been blazing audiences by blending their diverse origins to create new innovative ideas for their neoteric sound and captivating stage presence. As a result, their following continues to grow tremendously; however as more interest in 18o1 continues more questions arise, like: Where are they from? How did they meet? What does 18o1 mean? Well, here is a Q & A Bio that should answer all... or a great deal of the questions most frequently asked of 18o1. So, business prospects, fans, and curious readers one and all, read on! What are your names? Mattye, Chad & V.

Where are you guys from? California, Philadelphia and Virginia (respectively).

Where are you based? Richmond, VA.

What are your hobbies? We all like drawing and sports; however individually Mattye likes pool & ping-pong, Chad likes wrestling and V likes collecting transformers.


Do all of you sing? Yes. We all sing lead and background vocals.

Who writes your songs? Along with the Hot Squad, we write, produce, arrange, record & mix all of our songs. Together we make a self-contained unit.

How do you categorize your music? It's R&B with a hint of Hip-Hop & Jazz.

What makes you different? We have a little something for everybody. We are true to our craft and ourselves. It shows in our songs as well as performances. We breathe new life into R & B music.

Are you currently signed to a label? NO.

What does 18o1 mean? It's where it all started. It's the address where we ate, slept, practiced, etc. when we first started. The place we created our unique blend of harmony and a distinct sound.
