Album Notes

***** "BEST ROCK CD" ***** (Lehigh Valley Music Awards 2003)

***** 5 out of 5 stars ***** (Pulse Weekly, 2004)

Combining excellent rock songwriting and an emotional stage show, eighteenth hour has become one of Pennsylvania's most respected original bands and recently released their INTERACTIVE CD "SHINE" to great acclaim. Recent accomplishments include "Best Original Band" (Pulse Weekly Magazine Readers' Choice, 2004), and WINNER of the "2003 WZZO 15th Annual Backyard Bands Competition" held by the Lehigh Valley's biggest rock station WZZO (95.1fm).

Review in The Morning Call (2003):

Don't be fooled by the laid-back look of T-shirt and jeans - Eighteenth Hour has a high-octane show to go along with hard-driving rock.

Frontman Geoff Houser works the stage with authority while David Zullo rips elastic lightning from his fretboard. The exhilarating thunder stomp produced by drummer Tom Chaffier and bassist Ryan Wieand could cause Donald Rumsfeld to designate the city of Bethlehem - the band's home base - a haven for weapons of mass destruction.

Gigging heavily in the Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, Harrisburg and New York City, the three-year-old combo has cultivated a loyal following. More than 300 fans packed the Sterling Hotel in Allentown a month ago, when the band unveiled its latest release, ''Shine.''

Zullo calls the disc Eighteenth Hour's ''most mature'' album and believes it could propel the group to greater success. Already Eighteenth Hour is booked to perform at two of the largest outdoor festivals in the area, Musikfest and the Lehigh Valley Blues Fest.

Growing up on Hendrix, Bowie and Led Zeppelin, the band creates its music in the classic Jimmy Page/Robert Plant manner: Zullo offers a guitar idea that Houser expounds upon lyrically. If it appears that a song is germinating, the rest of the band is brought in to bring it to fruition.

Judging from audience response, it's a surefire method that promises a hefty harvest.
