Album Notes

1stBorn is a long time affiliate of Crown City Entertainment, which is home to such buzzworthy artists as XL Middleton, Black & Mild, & Rev. He finally signed on officially in 2005 to bring you his solo debut "The First Draft," which is a joint effort through CCE & 1st's own Herban Liquor Productions. 1stBorn's approach to rhyming is to attack the mic in the spirit of the great spitters from the 90's, such as Canibus or Big Pun, only he does it with a distinct West Coast flair that clearly sets him apart from anyone before him on either coast.

What makes 1stBorn unique as an artist is that he brings the "New West" or "West Coast Renaissance" sound to the table, only he does it with enough style and intensity to bring back the golden age of hip hop, from the mid to late 90's. His strong point is a rough, fiery delivery that lets you know from the jump that he means what he is saying. As if that's not enough, he is also a producer and he handled all of the production on "The First Draft," including the lead single "So Many Options" which many people thought was an XL Middleton production. He's already appeared on every Crown City Entertainment release, as well as several mixtapes and the Foesum / Loops compilation "Long Beach City Limits". He has also worked with notable producer Big Saccs & has collaborated with Dr. Stank & Dirty Birdy.
