Album Notes

22nd Century was founded by former friends Duane Chaos and Tim Plommer with the addition of drummer Glen G on the West side of Vancouver, Canada. True to their roots, the trio sticks mostly with driving, hard rock "Ramones" style punchy beats with melodies mocking everything from TV (Stevie Guide) to Super Heros. The song 509 is about a Superhero (but not the comic book kind) who likes to smoke and drink all the time but really doesn't have time to fight crime.

The trio are veterans of the West Coast music scene and have played in various other bands including Anthill, Ace Koden, Stress Factor 9 (alongside DOA founder Randy Rampage) and folk punk F.L.U. They are wild on stage and just like to play their own way as well as covering songs by others. Major influences were Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Alice in Chains, AC/DC, Sound Garden, AntHill, Van Halen, Jane's Addiction, Dead Boys, Tool, Oasis, DOA, Ace Koden, Rush, The Cult, Army of Anyone and Theory of a Deadman.

These Canadian boys are setting music enthusiasts on their ears!! Their latest release called Twenty Second Century has exploded onto the scene in no small way. Strong lyrics, spinning tales that are intricate and exciting. The songwriting skills are impeccable. Twenty Second Century, 6 Tracks, 6 ways to rock your world. Tim Plommer and Duane Chaos absolutely nail the vocals. Both have the ability and drive to take you where they want to go, no matter how deep. And baby, you will go willingly. Very unusual to find these qualities in two vocalist in one band. Sexy, edgy and hard hitting vocals, grab your attention from the first note. Trust me you aren't going anywhere till the last note on the last track rings out. These guitar lead tracks feature brilliant riffs throughout. Strong electric guitar enthused with ingenious segments leaving you breathless. The experience these musicians have on instrumentation seep into each and every track. Absolutely outstanding! Glen Gaupholm is a crazy man on those drums holding it all together. For the bass enthusiest, the bass line line exhibited on these tracks are exceptional. The Three tracks I have chosen to single out are: 1) 509 - This song grabs and holds you hostage!! The story line is brilliant! Intrumentation is over the top! This song takes punk, rock and pop then blends them into a song that hits the mark. Dance floors will fill to the brim! Strong vocals and an amazing guitar with a solo popped right in the middle. Love it! 2) Let Me Be - This song is one of my favorites. While hard hitting and guitar lead, the vocals are low, mean and sexy! Sealing the deal with any female with a heartbeat while still getting into the bloodstream of every man out there. Amazing and inventive guitar work. This is a song your going to remember in 20 years. 3) Stevie Guide - This track has you singing along in seconds. Even if you don't know the words. (c'mon you know what I'm talking bout!) It has a great beat, excellent lyrics and vocals. The dance floor won't know what hit it! Intrumentation is over the top! The guitar work done on this track is intricate, going strong to soothing. Man, 22nd Century is one of those bands that comes along once in a century! You have no idea how hard it was to pick 3 tracks. Take it from me, this band has a big sound that will leave an imprint on your soul. This album is beyond good. These guys are bloody brilliant! Run, don't walk. Get this album today! You will see for yourself. Well Done guys!!! A sure bet for anyone's music library. That's Just how I see It Shashona Indie Showcase www.indieshowcase.net
