"I Can't Believe" is the debut CD from 26west.
A project that comes from Northwest artists Danny Boyle (vocals) and Barry Aiken (keyboards). This adult contemporary act blends Pop, R-n-B and Jazz into their original material.
Barry, originally from Trail B.C., Canada and Danny from Portland, Oregon brought their musical abilities together in 1990. Forming a fast friendship and a unique musical style all their own.
'The writing process made this recording a lot of fun. I would hand Danny what I thought was close to a complete tune, a couple of days later Danny would walk in phrasing melody lines over the music in ways I never would have tried'.
Barry Aiken 'Rarely did we disagree with each other's musical input: although occasionally I could tell by the look on Barry's face, I was a little too original'.
Danny Boyle The name 26west was born out of sheer monotony, as this is the road driven (mostly by Danny), some 30 miles each way to Bare Mic studios where the project was recorded.
Barry and Danny had some great musicians lend their talents to this project, Erick Hailstone, Cal Scott, Mike Snyder, Rob Manning, Tom Teutsch, Jeff Leonard, Danny Schauffler, Sandin Wilson, Joe Plass and Elissa Stafford.
This CD project has strictly been a labor of love for Barry and Danny. They hope you will enjoy the material and know there is still fresh music being created by 26west.
