Album Notes

27 Years is a dynamic rock group based out of Minnesota. The combination of innovative songwriting, explosive musicianship and a powerful live show sets 27 Years apart from today's typical rock scene.

The band is coming off of their first independent release in 2008. Their debut album, July Skies, has given 27 Years the ammunition to continue their vision to share their sound in one of the best local music scenes in the country.

27 Years is currently working on their Sophomore album entitled The Mr. Hartle Sessions. It is scheduled to be released winter 09. The current lineup features Lantz H. Dale on Guitar and Vocals, Conrad Wachter on Cello, John Otto on Bass and Sam Nilson on Drums.

The band name, 27 Years, is a testament to the great musical heros of the past who left this world far too early. 27 Years may be named after their fallen idols but even Jim Morrison once said, "Each generation wants new symbols, new people, new names. They want to divorce themselves from their predecessors." 27 Years hopes to be and do just that.

Having bought this CD, I have to say it is one of the finest rock albums I have heard in recent time. Its combination of classic rock and modern synth twist really works. The interesting mixture of tempos is also a strong point, taking you from the fast paced "Philophobia" to the melodic "Snowing in Minnesota" the album take you on a fast and slow musical journey that is well worth the time and money. So sit back relax and enjoy!!!!!
