2 Bottle Sunday is an organically-grown acoustic folk group, performing a unique blend of original songs and creatively revived classics.
Jamie Ganger hails from a family of musicians, her father a country guitarist and her mother a jazz vocalist. Driven by her own love of folk music, Jamie merged these influences and defined her unique approach to singing. Her passionate and sultry vocals transition seamlessly through folk, country and rock songs. A prolific songwriter, she derives inspiration from her travels through this country and abroad.
Matthew Sabatella's expansive musical carreer includes singing, songwriting, playing numerous instruments, producing and teaching. He is motivated by his yearning to revive traditional folk music, as well as to make the music industry more accessible to lesser-known artists. He is well known for his haunting new renditions of historical folk tunes. Matthew's earthy and compelling vocals complement the ease with which he handles the guitar, banjo and harmonica.
At an early age, Danica Allen wrote songs in three-part harmony, and performed them live with other children in her church. She later sang choruses with a latin band in several venues, including South Beach, various nightclubs, and outdoor festivals. Recently, she has rediscovered her love of songwriting. Striving for a story in every song, she shifts between the eerie, the quirky, even the comical.
Jamie, Matthew and Danica stirred their talents together, mixed in some wine, and became 2 Bottle Sunday. What began as just-for-fun jam sessions soon evolved into live performances with a great audience response. 2 Bottle Sunday woos audiences with their creative lyrics and unexpected harmonies. They also love salvaging great songs from near-oblivion, and reverting well-known tunes to down-home acoustic styles.
