What I like most about Jim is that he plays the saxophone, the oboe or the flute like himself. He has built his own personality as a musician. Jim is a man of the world and that trait of character reflects in his playing. He is comfortable with all kinds of musical scenarios. Take him to Haiti with Yoyo and you can either hear the complaints of a suffering people or the enjoyment brought by the festivities of carnival. Take him to New York with White Plain Blues and he travels through America, crosses the Mississippi River, visits Los Angeles. Say a few French words and here he comes with his musical French or Creole accent. His playing is a melodic combination of human sounds that makes him a perfect fit as a musician.
