2hatJohn is the name given to me by my music teacher Matt who looked me in the eye late one afternoon in November of 2011 as I strummed my acoustic guitar and he said: you do realise you are playing that guitar like a total 2hat John. At first I thought he was calling me a rather rude name but it seems that Matt, who is vastly experienced in making music, thought I was using two styles, Country and Western crossed with Folk, so in a way I was wearing two hats, the Cowboy hat of C/W and the Flat Cap of Folk music. So the legend was born and I became 2hatJohn.
This song My Buddy Joe tells the story of Joe who is a rather ambitious pie eater from Canada who, having visited Niagra Falls with his friend, my Uncle Alf Sutton, decided to swill ale and swallow viagra pills. BUT instead of trying one tablet he popped five of the bastards in one go. The results of this somewhat ill advised adventure are the subject of my song. I recorded this with my long suffering music teacher Matt at Shamrock Studio in Blackburn Lancashire and when he heard the final version both the sound engineer, one Seamus Hefferman and Matt announced that it was indeed the product of a total 2hat.
