In a Hip Hop world polluted with monotony and the lack of lyrical content, 2 Real 4 da Mind is a breath of fresh air. With their rapid fire delivery and conscious lyrics 2 Real 4 da Mind captivates every crowd. The group was strongly influenced by artists such as Bone thugs~n~harmony, Nas, 2 Pac, Blackalicous and Lyrics Born to name a few. Without the backing of a promotion company 2 Real 4 da Mind has performed all over Colorado to audiences as large as 2000, the group has also performed at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas. 2 Real 4 da Mind’s debut album A Storm is Comin’ was a hit in the Denver – Boulder area selling hundreds of copies. The album Singles (A Storm is Comin’, Play it Smooth and Stories) have received radio and club play locally to as far as Bosnia. With the sophomore album SOKIS, set to release in 2007, 2 Real 4 da Mind demonstrates their lyrical abilities with songs like ABC’s, where every word is in alphabetical order. The group maintains its emphasis on social issues with songs like Colors of Life and Crazy World. Although known for their creativity with words, to really experience 2 Real 4 da Mind, attend a live show. The energy and crowd interaction is what sets 2 Real 4 da Mind apart from many hip hop artists.
2 Real 4 da Mind is made up of 3 members K-OSS, Siklone and DJ KB. K-OSS is the musical chemist of the group. His tongue twisting lyrics are often described as politically poetic. Siklone is more like the final coat of polish, his harmony adds shine to every track. DJ KB adds over 20 years of experience playing in clubs and bars. DJ KB also ran street promotions for MCA and Blackground Records in the late 1990’s under Lamont Hayes. Piece them all together and you have a work of art that is 2 Real 4 da Mind.
