Album Notes

"A superbly textured instrumental fusion sound." - 20th Century Guitar Magazine

"30YRSL8 makes a cutting edge instrumental rock statement with Elemental." - Music Web Express

"A staggering variety of musical styles .showing the versatility of the musicians and their willingness and interest to explore many types of music." - Cyndi Ingle, 701.com

30YRSL8 are a group of Ottawa-area music-scene veterans who are on a mission. While the band is full of experienced musicians who've been around the block (way more than once) they are determined to create something brand new: Instrumental music that has the widest appeal possible, although different styles are played through a rock lens.

Fusion is often just jazz played with rock instruments. 30YRSL8 plays rock with a jazz-inspired sense of daring and improvisation, but make no mistake: this band rocks.

The squeaky-tight rhythm section of Armand Vienneau and Mike Raymond are joined by the rich textures of Marc Bélanger's keys and the fiery axework of Rob Rose combine to form a totally original, yet familiar sound that has surprisingly wide appeal, Riding high from their well-received CD release, "elemental", 30YRSL8 is actually right on time with something fresh and original.
