Oakdale High School Group “33 A.D.” releases their original CD and Builds a Recording Studio in the Process

May 2, 2011 (Jackson, KY) – A six student high school class has written and recorded their own original CD. The new group is called “33 A.D.”, taken from the traditional year that Jesus died and was resurrected. The song styles are as diverse as the students interests. From rock to rap, worship, ballads and electronic. It plays like a good road trip mix.

In January 2011, the class began with the goal: To write, record and release an original CD by the end of the school year. Some of the students had never written a song before. They held in common a love of music. The started with enthusiasm, but with one major obstacle: No studio to record in. So the class used the website www.kickstarter.com to raise the money and build a small studio at their school, Oakdale Christian Academy. It was a lofty goal but now they not only have a small studio, but a professionally sounding twelve song CD of their original songs. All this happened with some passion and hard work in a few short months.

33 A.D. are students Liberty Gettys, Shelby Johnson, Brian Jones, Jill Maharrey, Robbie Skinner and Vanessa Tabor. They wrote, performed and recorded all the songs on the album with the help of their teacher, Jason Johnston.
