CD IN STOCK. ORDER NOW. Will ship immediately.

Eccentric eclectic melodic British pop-rock.

notes

Two lead singers playing acoustic guitar and keyboards, often augmented by drums, bass and saxophone, amongst others. The sound evokes the spirit of The Beatles and Led Zeppelin and, equally, Joni Mitchell and Steely Dan. Little Richard and Stephen Sondheim also make an appearance.

Great harmonies, a little reminiscent of Crosby Still & Nash; lyrics from strange dark places with bright sunshine bursting through every crack; music from a past, or a future, where bands think not of fashion but of borrowing from everywhere and everyone and creating a magic all their own. Oh, and there's not much rapping in it....

This CD was produced for our 2005 "World Tour of Alaska" and charts the progress of the band from the beginning in 1999 until June 2005. 2 tracks are taken from the forthcoming album "Good Grief" (to be realease in 2006, hopefully!), 3 tracks are from "Before They Were Famous" Vols. 1 & 2. The rest are rarities and oddities compiled especially for you.

Watchstar just made me cry.... and I'm too big, old, ugly, and too tough to cry!! Best music I've heard in a long time. Thank you.

  • This is a quirky musical feast for the ears.
    author: Anjella

An emotional rollercoaster of a CD-from overwhelming joy to tears of sadness(and laughter).Toe tapping melodies, jive, country and heart wrenching ballards,it's all here. Some songs will grab you from the get go,while others will grow insidiously inside your brain and you'll find yourself singing them at(possibly)inopportune moments.I loved The Bindley Tree before I'd even heard it.Call Me Beautiful,The Breaking and Your Face Is Not Enough, all wonderful and diverse. Overall 25 out of 10 for this fantastic, magical album.

an excellant starter CD for this bands music. A great compilation of the musical, writing and singing talent from 3BM. I dont regret buying this at all.

  • Where has CD this been all my life?
    author: Bernadette in Australia

I bought this CD because it was the only way to get hold of one song that I liked. Now I have this great CD full of songs which, in the 18 hours the CD has been in my possession, I have played about a dozen times and am singing along with like crazy. Approximately every hour my favourite changes but at the moment it's Emily Has Compassion Fatigue which has just about the best lyrics I've ever heard. Call Me Beautiful and Watchstar (the reason I bought the CD in the first place) are also standouts. You won't regret buying this CD.

  • Wooooooooow! Mooooooooooore!
    author: G. Kracht

Before I heard them on a podcast (www.digitalflotsam.org), I never heard of 3 Blind Mice. After having downloaded some music directly from their website, I was hooked! The music is timeless. I LOVE IT! And I can only say this: I want mooooooooooore!

  • Worth a million dollars
    author: John O'Connell

2 cents an acre - worth a million dollars! I've only had the cd two days and I've already played it many times. Its hard to quantify whats so compelling about these guys - you have to listen to fully appreciate their talent and sublime harmonies - try Call Me Beautiful. My personal favourite is The Bear Lies Down - it strikes a chord with me and reminds me so much of my own father. Emily Has Compassion Fatigue, its got to be a winner with words like every god foresaken anchovy? Watchstar is a track which could easily be a christmas number one - a hidden gem. Danny Boy - Lyndon at his best and so poigniant with the viola played by his dad. Don't just take my word for it, its a priceless addition to any collection. Bob Hoskins ;-)

  • Superb people, superb music.
    author: Sol

Ok, so I'm biased because I was one of their little Alaskan groupies, but this CD is amazing. It has literally been in my car’s player since the June Alaska trip (it’s now December). I usually listen to my mp3 player, but whenever I need a dose of 3BM, I just play the CD. Emily Has Compassion Fatigue is my fiancée’s favorite Mouse song. My favorite on this CD is definitely The Bindley Tree. I just liked the tune at first, but then I really listened to the story in the lyrics and became very much attached. Watchstar was a hit the first time I heard it. It’s even good when someone isn’t using it as a soundbed to talk over on the radio. And Danny Boy, while a beautiful production in its own right, is even more meaningful when you learn the story behind it. These guys are extremely talented, much more so than their modesty will tell. Buy this CD now, before they are discovered by the masses.
