Album Notes

3canal describe themselves as Rapso soldiers on a mission, representing the Power of the Word in the Rhythm of the word. This 3 disc album features the major hits in the first leg of their musical adventure [1997-2004]. During this time 3canal were signed to the label Rituals Music, in 2004 the label closed shop.
This album features 30 songs and 10 music videos including interviews. The music tells their story, the story of a people working out the unique complexities and juxtapositions of a post-colonial, multi-ethnic society richly blessed with culture and oil.
Vol 1 [Festival] contains the more festive songs which fuel the Trinidad Carnival and its “offspring” street festivals Nottinghill, London; Labour Day, New York; Caribana, Canada.
Vol 2 [Experimental] is more introspective in mood but takes a global outward looking perspective.
Vol 3 [Visual] features some of the videos created in the eight-year journey.
