On June 22, 2011 four musicians met for the first time at a recording studio in Singapore. They entered a recording room, set up their instruments and with little discussion and no plan whatsoever, did what they do best - play music LIVE! 4 hours later, the result of this spontaneous combustion was The Riverwalk Session - 14 musical pieces bursting at the seams with intensity and emotion in a blend of styles that could never have been imagined or ever concocted.
Each track contains a mixture of styles and sounds only as unique and multi-cultural as the creators - a guitar and mandolin player from Kerala (India), a Singaporean classical singer, an American harmonica playin’ blues journeyman and a clarinet player who uses musical theory to fuse noise with music.
Prepare to be mesmerized by real music by real musicians playing acoustic instruments in a 3how way that can probably never be recreated! Until the next time*… if ever!
*at the time of release of this album in July 2012, the same bunch of musicians had not ever met or played music together after this recording….
