Album Notes

3HREE is a theater piece, put together by Broadway legend Harold Prince, which consists of 3 short musicals. The middle one, "Lavender Girl", has songs by John Bucchino (including "Dancing" which is also on the GRATEFUL CD.) The cast album of 3HREE is now available -- it's a wonderful representation of the show performed by the New York actors who starred in the original production in Philadelphia. The orchestrations are by Michael Gibson (who orchestrated the new Broadway version of "Cabaret" among many other shows.) 3HREE had its second production at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles.

Three incredible one-act musicals
author: William Nelson
These three musicals are a great indicator of the fine health of the American Musical Theater. The music is charming and accesible, the stories are out of a smiley-faced twilight zone, and the three lead to a high-flying ending of the type we all hope for. Already one of my two favorite theater evenings.
