3 KISSES is a highly stylized pop/rock outfit that writes highly catchy and offbeat songs, which are an excellent mesh of many different musical styles. Opener Yellow is a catchy ditty that mixes intricate slap bass with interesting guitar work that swings between straight up pop and funky wah. The stylish vocals remind me of Gwen Stefani. Singer Tish Meeks has an infectious voice that rolls out her vocal hooks with ease and draws in the listener. The song is short enough and filled with enough interesting hooks to warrant multiple listens. I personally spun it 3 times before moving onto the next track and found something new with each consecutive listen. The second track, Wings, brings the mood down and lets Meeks’ vocals flow over some interesting, melodic guitar work. The guitar effects are layered, giving it the feeling of having backing keyboards, which is a nice touch. The song doesn’t lose any energy however, due to the excellent and strong rhythms provided by Ed Hale on bass and Jennie Rutherford on the drums. Wastin’ Time finishes out the demo on a strong note with an excellent dual hook, with the guitar mirrored against what sounds like a xylophone. Along with sporadic saxophone bursts, it sets a great landscape for Tish to sing around. The song is insanely catchy and was stuck in my head in seconds. 3 KISSES has made an excellent offering of their music. It’s catchy, well written, did I mention catchy? - and excellently mixed. The only unfortunate part about this CD is that it’s over too quickly. The only unfortunate part about this CD is that it’s over too quickly. With Tish supplying lyrics and melodies, Tony surrounds them with his musical magic.  This is the essence of Wings and the result is a unique sound, echoing tunes of the early 70’s with an edgy contemporary twist.  Three songs stand out as major representations of this album.  Complete sings of the search for ultimate love.  This is one of the most melodic songs on the album and is rich in acoustic guitar with layers of sub-melodies throughout.  In Come Along, Tish refuses to bore listeners with vanilla lyrics. The music is filled with syncopated rhythms creating the edgy feel of being on an emotional roller coaster ride.  The first song on this album is titled Yellow and is probably a good sample of the direction that 3 KISSES will be heading in future projects.  This song makes you want to dance.  Tony pushes it through with his cry-baby enhanced rhythm guitar while Tish sings the punchy verses with a smooth, almost velvet, tone that is destined to be a 3 KISSES trademark. 3 KISSES new album Wings is a journey to be enjoyed and asks to be taken.

Yellow is a good start – the rambunctious mood sets the CD up well.  Wings is an endearing song with a pop/rock feel.  I love the acoustic guitar and upbeat, positive theme. The 60’s bubble gum feel of Wastin’ Time could use a stronger chord change, but it transitions into the next track, making it stand out more.  Come Along has an excellent chord change and beautiful melody.  I like that wah-wah, kind of campy touch. Seek Your Own Way has a haunting opening and is very poetic.  I love the echo on the backing vocals, interesting lyrics (egocentric), conversational song, very introspective.  Don’t Pretend has Beatles-like harmonies, very well done – excellent lyrics.  I am seeing a pattern of very engaging lyrics.  Complete comes in with a Boston-like opening with a nice echo on the vocals and nice interplay on the instruments.  This song takes on a Velvet Underground persona at times, very come hither kind of song – sweet, catchy.
The Last Time has nice bass, shows the sinister side of 3 KISSES and offers very good playing and tight arrangement.  Undone has a Bangles-like hardness with interesting, mature perspective lyrically, that I am finding on all your songs.  However this one is a stand out.  Too Late is my favorite track – I was very engaged at the beginning with the vocal tone and harder edge in the melody, David Bowie-like.  Wandering came back around to the sweet tone again with beautiful singing.  My overall impression of the CD is a sweet, innocent mood with a mature perspective.  This very tight band harkens back to something lost in music.  The thing that stands out is the contrast between lyrics that are kind of introspective and slanging at times, and that sweet sound.
