Album Notes

LONG BEACH, CA

The band formed when Zack Walters’ girlfriend walked across the street in Belmont Shore (Long Beach) and dropped a 4 song demo into the PO Box of Long Beach Records. Greg “mudd” Lowther (aka. Owner of LBR), checked the box and was pleasantly surprised at what he found. After his 9 year old daughter wore out the CD, she urged him to contact Zack and start a band with him. So he did in late October 2004. Adding Tyson Parrish to the band on bass.

Within first year of the band’s existence, 3rd Alley toured across the states and finished a 16 song album, “after school special.” With issues ranging from real life stories about psycho ex girlfriends, to sleep deprivation; from angst towards pop culture to de ja vu, the album is difficult to classify but puzzlingly easy to relate to.

“After School Special,” (aka. ASS) is licensed to Long Beach Records – Europe/Fond of Life Productions, and InYaFace Records - Japan. All 3 versions are somewhat unique from each other, with different tracks and minor changes in artwork.

The songwriting is mainly done by Zack Walters who plays guitar and sings in the band. Zack has performed across the country as a solo artist as well as having fronted the band “Handful” based out of San Diego.

Greg “mudd” Lowther, was part of the early 80’s Long Beach punk movement as the drummer for the revered, “Falling Idols,” who have spawned endless offsprings throughout the years. Mudd has been active in the scene ever since, having played in 40 +/- bands.

What do Sunny Delight commercials and 3rd Alley have in common? Funny you should ask . . . Tyson Parrish. The chubby cheeked Sunny D childstar turned roadie for bands like Secret Hate and Corn Doggy Dogg and the ½ pound, always had dreams of being part of a band. Now, look at him! “hey mom, I’m on top of the world!!”
