Album Notes

4FRONT is the band that is taking progressive rock and fusion into the future.

An instrumental rock band that combines top-notch playing, cinematic arrangements, and symphonic flourishes into melody-oriented songs, 4Front is accessible to any fan of popular music - not strictly the typical audience of instrumental music.

Fans of Rush, Thomas Dolby, Dream Theater, Genesis, Billy Joel, The Police, Joe Jackson, The Dixie Dregs, Joe Satriani, Return To Forever, and Mahavishnu Orchestra will find familiar elements here - as will fans of film composers like John Williams, Alan Silvestri and Randy Newman.

4FRONT puts the song first - then adds all the other ingredients that make their CDs a treat for fans of hi-fi music played by talented musicians.

RADIO WAVES GOODBYE is 4FRONT's third release. Their second, GRAVITY is also available here on CD Baby.

Guitarist, composer, and engineer Zak Rizvi has worked with many bands and musicians in the NYC area before opening his own recording studio, The Den.

Drummer Joe Bergamini is also a member of the legendary prog rock group HAPPY THE MAN, and performs on Broadway in the Billy Joel / Twyla Tharp show MOVIN' OUT. He is well known to drummers as a writer for MODERN DRUMMER, and a clinician for TAMA, SABIAN, VIC FIRTH, EVANS, and LP.

Zak and Joe performed together for 11 years in the US's premier Rush tribute band, Power Windows.

Bassist Frank LaPlaca comes to the band from top NYC rock acts Eternal Vision and The Buddha Brains. He and Joe have played together for over 10 years.

4Front has performed extensively in the Eastern US and in Puerto Rico, including opening shows for SAGA, MARILLION, and KANSAS.

I'm really enjoying this CD.Great melodic, progessive stuff.Reminds me of the Dregs a lot, but with a much heavier, very concise sound.Plenty of fusion in there. The keyboard sounds are all excellent and sit in the mix really well.I'm liking that Bowie cover a lot.The drumming is out of this world. I'm surprised I had not heard of these guys until recently.I'm ordering their other one right away.

good stuff
author: Mike Masuda
I have listened to this album over and over again in my car--it is great driving music. I bought it for the awesome cover of Space Oddity 2001--but the instrumentals are quite nice. Very reminescent of Rush but with a modern rock flair. One thing I'd like to hear more of in the future from this band is more lyrics--the singer is pretty good, and there is only one song with vocals :-(. Keep up the good work!

EXCELLENT INSTRUMENTAL PROGRESSIVE ROCK!
author: Strutterzine (netherlands)
This New Jersey settled band is playing high quality instrumental progressive/symphonic rock a la RUSH, 70s KANSAS, 70s GENESIS and JOURNEY (all without the melodic vocals!). Highlights on 'Gravity' are such excellent, perfect progressive rockers like "Prelude", "Gearth", "Space and Time" and "A Dying Wish". Just listen how perfect everything sounds, with the keyboards and guitar riffs taking an important part in 4FRONT's music. The other CD, 'Radio Waves Goodbye'... contains some great instrumental progressive rcok like "Tunnel vision", "Special Patrol Group" and "Descent". There's also a cover of the DAVID BOWIE classic "Space Oddity 2001", and that's the only song that features vocals, and I must say that guitarist/keyboard player Zak Rizvi has a good voice, maybe a side-project with vocal songs would be an option? Anyway, if you're into quality instrumental progressive rock, then look no further, here's 4FRONT! (Points: 8.5 out of 10)
