4inObjects is a New York based jazz collective, featuring Yoon Sun Choi, Jacob Garchik, Jacob Sacks, Dave Ambrosio, and Dan Weiss. Although the current lineup dates to 2001, members of 4inObjects have played together since 1994. With such a long history, it would be easy for most musicians to fall into comfortable grooves. However 4inObjects prides itself on being unpredictable not only to the audience but also to each other.

Every aspect of their material is subject to instantaneous alteration. Harmony, melody, rhythm, instrumentation, timbre, and even form are targets for inspection, manipulation, or ridicule. They strive to create a continuously elastic atmosphere, keeping the listeners on the edges of their seats.

Great album
author: Christine
This album is one of my favorites. Yoon Sun Choi has a strong voice and can really belt at times, yet is capable of serious nuance. The arrangements are innovative and compelling and go in interesting, unexpected directions (see, especially, the cover of the Carpenters' "Close to You"). In short, a fabulous CD.

I've seen this band live, and they're incredible. The CD gives a great sense of their intensity, since it's a recording of one of their lives shows. Just amazing stuff.
