BACKGROUND
4U, the extremely talented vocal group out of Washington DC, was introduced to the scene in 1990. Even then it was apparent that this was no ordinary group. Always in the pursuit of perfection, 4U has never settled for the norm. Whether it comes to rehearsing, performing, recording or interviewing, this group always strives to be the best.
4U's unique, harmonic sound is a combination of R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop & Gospel. The changes of the lead vocal throughout the songs allow the group's sound to be unmistakably recognized. This recognition is not only in the sound of the vocal, but also in the style in which the group produces, writes, arranges, and performs it own songs.
PERFORMANCES
4U's performing style has been demonstrated and appreciated through nationwide appearances- from nite clubs to arenas all across the country. The group has had the opportunity to perform with national artists such as: Silk, Immature (IMX), Intro, Johnnie Gill, O'Jays, Gerald LeVert, Tank, Dru Hill, and Deborah Cox just to name a few. 4U has also performed the National Anthem for the NBA Washington Wizards & the WNBA Washington Mystic Basketball Teams.
4U is dedicated to actively participating in the community and has performed at a number of charitable events including: Robin Breedon Day, Raynell Tuncker Day, and at the Stop the Violence Concert hosted by local radio stations. 4U has also performed at numerous city- sponsored events such as The Black Family Reunion, Capital Soul Fest, Unifest, Taste of DC, Hispanic Expo, and The Stone Soul Picnic.
4U has been interviewed by local radio personalities CoCo Brother of 93.9FM, DJ Felx of Love Talk and Slow Jam late night radio show on 95.5FM, the Donnie Simpson morning show on 95.5FM, and was interviewed as well as performed on the national broadcast program Planet Groove BET.

A Great Sound
author: Verjaunne Jernigan
I played this CD one time and fell in love immediately with it...My favorite cuts, Please Don't Give Up on Me, Leave Your Luv At the Door, Stole My Heart and Thank You. These DC Boys can blow. There are a couple of fast grooves that are sampled from old school joints... they are tight too...Overall, this is a good CD and it's sexy music for that special time. I thoroughly enjoyed it... I'm looking forward to their next release.
