Album Notes

The Four Way Split Midwest is the second installment in People In A Position To Know’s regional “Buddy Band” series of Four-Way splits on limited edition vinyl and digital download. This one features Saturday Looks Good To Me, Emily Jane Powers, The Impossible Shapes, and the Impossible Shapes side projects. So, technically, it makes 8 artists, but in keeping with the series title, literalness be damned, we are going to count the side projects as one single band. On the A side, The Impossible Shapes put their unique twist on metaphysical psychedelic folk, while their side projects, Wee Giant, NormanOak, Uno Moss, Goatmother, and Horns of Happiness, run the gamut from electro-dance, country and western, and shower-style accapella. On the flip side, Saturday Looks Good to Me plays orchestral indie pop with a beautiful bedroom pop aesthetic, while Emily Jane Powers kicks female vocaled twee pop.
