Review comments: "It's sweet !! And sexy !! Sounds great (production wise)"
- Logan Susnick.
"I really enjoyed it. I've always really been a fan of exotic ethnic music fused with other styles."
- Mark Isham.
"I received your CD several weeks ago, and absolutely LOVE it! ;-) I think my favorite has to be the title track, though, "Colorful". The phase-vocoded (?) "colorful" vocal is SOOO cool. I also like the first track a lot, "Based on a true story".... what is the language used in that and the other tracks? Arabic? In any case, the "from my minaret" singing style really works well with the drum-n-bass background. It sounds like a different language in "Colorful". Some kind of African language? Wow. It's just an ear-feast! This is great stuff! (Listening to it right now....). Kind of like Deep Forest, but with the musicianship of someone like Joe Zawinul" I also really liked the ambient section of the album. It's a nice way to format an album, since once the listener has had his/her fill of music that "grabs your attention", they are let down gently as a feather.... Nice."
- Daniel Kopyc
"Hey hey--the record's slammin!!!! I've listened to it a bunch of times and really dig the creativity and world influence."
- Jennifer Batten (Jeff Beck, Michael Jackson)

Deep and smooth and rich.

"Based on a True Story" is like smooth trip-hop drenched
with Arabic vocals the way baklava is drenched with honey...
deep and smooth and rich. "Ambience1" is probably what outer
space would sound like if there were air in space to carry
sound-waves. "Ambience2" is reminiscent of gamelan music on
tranquilizers, with gently-echoing piano layered over top.
A beautiful, tranquil, warm collection of individual songs
in soothing minor keys, the vast majority of which are
beautifully beyond my powers of description.

WOW!!! This is the most interesting CD that I have heard in years. It is very refreshing to me personally because it is so much like the music that I create.
When asked what "kind of music" that I make; I usually reply: "JazzFunkTechnoDanceRock". I think perhaps that is the beginning to the discription of "500 Megs Fine! : Colorful".
