ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
54 Seconds' music is at once ambient, melancholic, large, characterized by unexpected chord progressions and strange, catchy hooks. The band is spacious-almost experimental, but disturbingly accessible, with unusual harmonies floating above lush, vintage keyboards and the elegant guitar and voice of Spencer Gibb. Combining the best elements of electronica, pop and classic rock, 54 Seconds is late night headphone music at its best.

Enjoyed the music, didn't like the back cover
I enjoyed the music on the CD. Finally something my son and I can listen to and both enjoy. Excellent songs. Hated the back cover though, as I have a 12 year old son.

A Must-Have in Every Collection!
54 Seconds' first CD which actually began as an EP and grew into a fully blown album due to much warranted demand. Basically it is a collection of singles. Produced and mixed by Dave McNair and 54 Seconds, this is the one that started it all for me. From start to finish, every song is amazing! Filled with stong arrangements, and quality musicians! I have to particularly rave about Early Warning!! It Got You Thinking starts with a soft rainy day, and heads on into Power Pop at it's best. Sell It To A Girl displays underlying Jazz influences, and the thick bass rhythms of Foolish Me are cool to say the least. Photograph has funky feel, Strange Day is their best song ever, Wanted is sad, and inspiring, and finally the journey finishes up with the deliciously mellow harmonies of Sometimes. Artist Judibeth Hunter, did the lovely artwork, which is another bonus! Listening to this CD wont leave you feeling Jaded - that's for sure!!

Indeed, quite the collection of songs. Bit like The Beatles': With The Beatles. I have two copies of ep. One where the last three tracks are bonus tracks and the reissue, where the former bonus tracks have been remastered to match up to the rest of the album and are now just a part of the track listing. When my son first heard the original ep, he wrote a review. If you are so inclined, read it here: http://members.shaw.ca/run2me/ep.htm
It's a good review of the songs. All I can really say is that as soon as the shaker starts on "Foolish Me", the awesome remastering is immediately apparent. There is nothing better than a great remastering of songs. Especially when you love the songs SO MUCH already!
