Album Notes

Born on NYC's Craigslist last year, 5th of July was quickly playing with Los Lonely Boys (2005 Grammy Winners), Willie Nelson and Blues Traveler, to name a few...now comes their long anticipated debut CD. Produced by Matt Knobel (Lenny Kravitz) and written and arranged by singer Sabriena Stone & rhythm guitar player Larry Post, 5th of July's music blends powerful vocals with well- crafted, yet raw rock & roll hooks.

Many thanks to everyone who made this record possible, especially the great musicians who bring all the music to life. The very talented guitar player Elijah Steele who contributed lead and electric guitars, Ron Thaler a great drummer who also lent us his musical ear, John "JC" Carey who held down the fort w/ tremendous bass lines and whose new CD can also be purchased on CD Baby @ www.cdbaby.com/johncarey, Ed Calle & crew for the great Horns section, Amber Leigh on fiddle and violin and Bob Wlos on pedal steel guitar. Thanks again to everyone who made this record possible.

peace....5th of July

new sound with familiar comfortable feeling...
author: the Mfactor
Love this album! its new but familiar, its rockin and soulful and heartfelt all at once. the songs take you through a rollercoaster ride each time you listen-- It doesn't matter what order. I would Not call this 80s rock at all--if anything the vocals and guitar have a more 60s/70s sound with a modern twist. its a well produced powerful compilation of songs. People with all different musical tastes can enjoy No Surprise!

Pleasant Surprise!
author: Laura M. Turner
No Surprise by 5th of July has a refreshingly heavy sound: music to this lover's ears; a collaboration among both seasoned and talented musicians. At the helm is brilliant guitarist Larry Post coupled with the deeply feminine voice of Sabriena Stone. I'm taken far aback when a singer reaches to the soul's depths to conjure images of our times treasured voices. The title track and lead track earn most honorable mention, yet my favorite cuts are deeper ones: the bluesy "Bound To Come": rock-and-roll plus horns, equals a delicious blend of southern rock and jazz (think Cafe R&B/Ike & Tina), also the more contemporary toe-tapper, "Hot Mama!" was a fave, as well. I most especially loved the darker sound of the profoundly urban "New York By Sunday" (think In Flight: Linda Perry post Non-Blonde or shades of early Johnette Napolitano). Loved it! Listen carefully... Run, don't walk to buy now. You can then say you heard them when...

I LOVE 80's rock and 5th of July delivers one radical dose of it. Bon Jovi meets Roxette meets Meatloaf...amazing.
