Album Notes

Pacific Northwest Hip Hop given in an explosive array of poetic freedom. Robert Neal, Laeon & La'Traon Carter established Razor Sharp Records out of Los Angeles, CA and operates in the "Rose City", Portland, Oregon. Razor Sharp Records is organized to professionally promote raw, undiscovered talent. For instance, 605 Inc. (LaEZd, TriZeE' LoQ, Double N, Don Juizzy) a group that represents the root, the family, the branches of the tree, which infiltrates the mental with spiritual, philysophical, and conquering shady life conflicts in a world thats cold and heartless. On the "Art of a Rappin' Poet" various producers and young up and coming artist like: Cutthroat & Baby Capone (Ehtylimaf), and Nacho inspired to deliver an album that has tracks full of bumps for everyone!

605 Inc. evolved in 1989 by freshmen from Grant and Jefferson High Schools in Northeast Portland, Oregon. The core of the group were identical twins from South Central, Los Angeles (Laeon & LaTraon Carter), LaJuane Brown, and Nathaniel Burton. Seeing the unequal treatment and lack of adequate resources for youth, in addition, being constantly bombarded with negative influences in the Rose City (gangs, selling dope, stealing, fighting, drug abuse) and resisting police brutality, these
young men started putting their energy and resources in being more constructive and inspirational to their fellow peers with lyrical spit brigades. Instead of being followers, they anguished to become brothers dedicated to survive and not struggle. They figured together,as
a tree, the root, the family, they could achieve their goals and far
beyond in this game of hip-hop!!!

I loved the diversity and originality from track 2 track. These fellaz definitely have something to say about this turmoil we struggle and strive in on a day 2 day; because all that noise about gangbangin, Bling Blingin, and corner dope slangin' ain't the only shit goin' on with our people!
