Album Notes

Hit Songs by 6th Graders!

This record is the result of a 6th grade songwriting unit. Every single student wrote a song. In many cases, the students wrote their own lyrics and melodies, and sang their own songs. Some simply wrote lyrics--the most important ingredient of a great song! Most of the bonus tracks were created as spontaneous improvisations or quick collaborations.

I'm amazed at how these pre-teen poets can create such catchy tunes, poignant messages, and passionate performances.

As you listen, you might be able to imagine at least one of these songs on mainstream radio. Best of all, you'll discover a little about what 6th graders think and feel. And they just might strike a chord with you!
