The group is currently Edmonton-based, with an intensely dedicated local fanbase. The band has recently completed its debut e.p. "Smashed to Pieces (In the Still of the Night)."

Established in 2002, 7 and 7 is consists of three Edmonton natives-two brothers, vocalist Sean Foster and bass player David Foster, as well as guitarist Lance Kozak. The band also has numerous international ties, with guitar player Damian Fraczek, who was born in Poland and drummer Kelly Chia, who is from Brunei.

The band's name is derived from the title of the proto-punk song "Seven and Seven is" by Arthur Lee's Love.
