80 Proof Records LLC, is an independent music label founded in 2001 and based in Chicago, IL that has, and will, continue to introduce many innovations to the musical landscape and culture.

80 Proof Records has over 25 albums worth of completed material scheduled for future release prior to it’s first public release. (Yes, 80 Proof Records keeps completed albums in the vault ready to go).

80 Proof Records has completely avoided the use of samples to foster the creation of an entirely new organic unique style and form of cool playa music. All tracks are produced in house without interpolation or borrowed materials.

80 Proof Records promotes multiple solo artists who are able to hold their own. Although its solo artists collaborate (i.e. Streets 2 Suites Vol. 1), 80 Proof Records does not promote the group concept.

80 Proof Records mandates that its artists release albums in the form of “Collections”. This is a new industry standard. The collection must be completed by the artist before any individual album is released.

80 Proof Records offers artists unique marketing, publishing and compensation packages unlike any other in the industry. These internal agreements allow artists to operate as independent contractors with uncapped potential to generate revenue based upon their ability and desire to hustle. 80 Proof Records does not bind artists to long term contracts or hold them back in any fashion.

80 Proof Records abides by a self created “Love of the Music Game” clause. This allows 80 Proof Records artists’ complete freedom to collaborate with outside artists provided they do not duplicate material previously intended for and/or recorded by 80 Proof Records nor use the namesake without prior permission.

80 Proof Records truly champions the “Streets 2 Suites” ethic by promoting a culture familiar to the streets while being embraced in the executive suites.

80 Proof Records is the inventor of the “Three Mix”, a process where three-(3) songs are produced using combinations of the same sounds for each version of the three-(3) songs.
