Album Notes

After two and a half years, Madison\'s 8889 have returned older and wiser with a follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut. Like a case of melancholia during a rock n\' roll dance party, \"Zoology\'s\" 12 all-new tracks seduce and sing to the strange, jaded romantic in all of us.

\"Endearing sweetness...\'Zoology\' is pure Britpop without the accent -- accessible, catchy, and sincere. 8889 love playing music, and that joy is infectious.\" -April Williamson, Mad Tracks

\"Brisk, at times introspective pop-rock. \'All We Are\' and \'Numbers of Me\'...feature two of lead vocalist Ross Benbow’s stronger performances, and the latter track really benefits from an oddly accented beat and moody bass line that suggest the onrushing bottom end of the Church’s quarter-century old \'Under the Milky Way.\'\" -Tom Laskin, The Isthmus

\"The follow-up to their MAMA winning debut album finds a well-defined, well-thought through chunk of moody alt music.\" -Maximum Ink

I went to the 8889 album release in Madison and heard many of these songs live. This is a great album with a lot of emotion. 8889 seem like real people who just happen to write and sing incredble songs. Very beautiful and I highly recomend it!

all well-written songs with strong melodies, well-played and recorded guitars and drums, with a smiths, oasis, blur feeling. starts off with good but similar songs and then goes a little farther out with second half of album to a last, powerful song fortuna. great sophmore effort, great cd.
