Album Notes

It took 18 different musicians, two producers, a vending machine full of beer and tons of creative energy but we like to think that our new album “Superheavy” is reflective of what is great about today’s music industry. A group of musicians can self finance going into a studio to record and release an album on their own, focusing on true musicianship with each musician able to add their own distinctive imprint to every song. In a world full of computer generated loops, drum machines and pitch correction, you'll find none of that here. This is real live instruments from real live musicians!!!

“Superheavy” blends horn heavy funk, soul, hip-hop, reggae, and rare groove that you can just put on and let play. Whether it’s at your neighborhood block party, your outdoor BBQ, your day at the beach, or just driving around with the windows down, you'll find the result is a soulful and funky soundtrack for the summer.

8 Ohms has shared the stage with G Love and Special Sauce, Chuck Brown, Nikka Costa just to name a few.
