Who IS 8traC?

…Imagine stepping off the edge and realizing you can fly, as long as you keep the beat…


Urban Funk Rock. A vision with soul, led by vocalist Chantel Mead, guitarist Derek VanScoten and drummer Chris Misner. This is 8traC.

While performing as a six-piece band, Chantel, Derek and Chris form the core inspiration and writing foundation of 8traC. They have been infiltrating their home turf of Colorado, and are spreading their wings to take on the nation starting this fall!

So where DID 8traC come from and what ARE they doing?!

8traC sprung forth from a deep connection to Motown and 70's funk roots about two and a half years ago. Through a process of major change, evolution and inspiration 8traC has evolved into a hard-hitting original act with socially/politically conscious messages (not to mention slammin’ vocals, gut-wrenching guitar solos and ‘god help me if you don’t dance’ drums – not bad eh?!)

So, put all that together, add a few groovy tunes and - wham! 8traC has been in the drivers-seat this year with recent appearances alongside Kanye West, G. Love and Special Sauce, and Robert Randolph.
