Album Notes

What's up everybody? We released this album with a show at BB Kings Club on Universal Citywalk, Oct. 30th, 2006. This was our goal to have it finished by and we busted our tails to do it. We're now working on our 2nd album and will have it out sometime 2009. A video for our a new single in the works
"Roller Derby Girl" will also be out soon.
The 900 Pound Gorilla story is one of 3 longtime friends having fun.
Along the way, 900 Pound Gorilla made it to the ballot for the 51st Grammies in the Rock/Duo Group with vocal category. We also received the award for Punk Rock Group of the Year at the 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards. In addition to this, they recently garnered 2 nominations for the All Access Magazine Awards-Best New Group and Best Hard Rock Group. The Band continues to expand their diverse fan base through shows and through their extensive web presence including: www.900poundgorilla.com, a myspace site, cd baby, itunes, Number1 music, MusicNation, this month in music, earbuzz.com, sonicbids, Feature sounds, cafepress.com, and many, many other sites.
They have also been featured on 97.1 KLSX Radio, in No Cover magazine and on an accompanying cd. In June, they we’re featured on www.rockwired.com with an interview and show. They are also featured with a track on K.t. Recordz Guitars of Tomorrow and
Here's a little background on the band:
Allright, here goes with a somewhat mangled bio. We'll start with Don and John. We met while going to Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, Ca., junior year. We played in a couple bands together, one of them being SSIK, (a kiss tribute band). From there we ended up at UCSD , coincidentally, playing in a couple bands there, till John went to Berklee college of music, in Boston, for his last two years of college. After that , we started playing in a slew, and I mean gaggle, or monstrous number of bands in Los angeles. John and Jeff knew each other from playing shows together while Jeff was in Dead Lazlo's place and Don and john we're playing together in Mad Beat Vision. Forward ahead a couple of years , and john joins Dead Lazlos's place and punk rock hilarity ensues. John bows out of Dead lazlo's and down the line, Jeff does as well. We ended up playing together and auditioning every crappy lead singer in los angeles. 900 Pound Gorilla was eventually put together and here we go. Basically, we've all known each other forever, and we'd be hanging out doing other crap together if we were'nt playing in a band. PEACE
