Its shirts off, glow sticks out and arms in the air time for the 99th Floor Elevators brand of uptempo thumping house and techno hybrid stomp.
'I'll Be There Remixed' is an updated collection of uptempo remixes in a myriad of hard hitting styles of the mid 90s UK chart hit and underground club anthem once championed by gone but not forgotten DJ Tony De Vit and BBC Radio 1.
Six varied mixes here, the first three excelling in 140+bpm UK hardhouse style from leading UK DJs and remixers Nik Denton, the Killer Hurts and Paul King. Micheal Fusseder throws his retro German trance re-rub into the ring for an alternative take (and a USA exclusive).
Richard Harrington and Tampa based DJ Brad Smith contribute a house version each. Harrington goes for the summery Ibiza styled funky guitar fueled feel whilst Smiths own twist recalls Junior Vasquez at his tribal house best.
The 99th Floor Elevators were formed in London, UK in the mid 1990s and had a handful of independent dance label 12 inch vinyl releases out until they were picked up by Warner Bros subsidiary PWL/Labello Dance and had two massive top 10 hits in the UK's national dance charts with 'Hooked' and 'I'll Be There'.
The tracks have appeared on over 50 major dance albums worldwide including albums for massive names like Tidy, Nukleuz, Sundissential, Tripoli Trax, React, Clockwork Orange, Fantazia, Euphoria and Ministry of Sound.
The Elevators are best known for huge UK dance anthem 'Hooked' which has been championed by just about every hard house DJ in the UK over the years including OD404, Pete Wardman, Steve Thomas, the late but great (and much missed) Tony de Vit and 100s of other names across clubland.
The 'I'll Be There' remix project came about when the rights to the track reverted back to the artist and remixers were recruited from around the globe entirely online using the acts own blog and their MySpace page.
Some of the remixes have been released on three seperate 12 inch singles in Europe courtesy of a licensing deal with respected UK dance label Toolbox Recordings. This CD brings together all those remixes and two more US. only exclusives onto one CD.
