notes
Hailing from Baltimore, a hub of original music, 9bobNOTE has created and performed music that seems to make a habit of defying artificial boundaries. The name 9bobNOTE itself conjures up questions. "A 9bobNOTE is the British equivalent of a 3-dollar bill. We identify with being queer in a most literal and figurative way", says frontwoman Trish Caruana.
Perhaps it's the strength of Kelly Lallo and Trish Caruana's songwriting that sets the stage for music that is both universal and intimate.
But the contributions of veteran musicians Sandy Leishear, Paula Esworthy and new member Colleen Mareiniss is powerful and elemental to the overall sound of 9bobNOTE.
"Voice on the machine" represents 9bobNOTE as they are- versatile and dynamic performers.
From the 60's power-pop feel of the first track "Jitter" to the funk fueled groove of "Keep Me Breathing", 9bobNOTE will take you into their experience and remind you of your own.
You'll hear emo-rock at it's best and you'll leave wanting more.

Top Notch Debut CD
author: Marc Plainguet9 Bob Notes weave a blend of rock and folk matching the best of R.E.M. and the Indigo Girls, and manage to do it without being a sound-alike band. This band plays in their own unique style that is a sound all their own. This collection of 9 songs vary from the rock 'n' roll of "Keep Me Breathing" to the soft and emotional feel of "Water To Sky" (the tremendous closing song) as well as the dark and moody tone of "Deadwires". 9 Bob Note shows they're fabulously talented musicians and songwriters on this debut release, and the production is top notch. For those two reasons, this CD sounds like something that should have come from a major label. Clearly this is one of the best independent releases I've heard. 9 Bob Note is a great band that we'll hopefully be hearing more from in the near future. You won't be disappointed.
The ultimate driving CD. I can not get upset while listening to the music.
author: Jessi MerrikenThe CD brings together indie-rock and mainstream pop. Songs like Keep me Breathing indicate to the listener that this is a sure fire single. Songs like Speediehead bring us all to the realization of what life is like in this world currently, and relationships get a little screwy. All and all it is an excellent cd and a must have for all collections.
These women rock!
author: JessieNever has women's music been so fresh, upbeat, and emotional as the rocking tunes of 9bobNOTE. From the bluesy "One Way" to the heartfelt "Water to Sky" never have I felt so good listening to a cd such as this. I feel as though I am pulled into the lyrics and music that these women have obviously poured their heart and soul into creating. I love this cd and I highly recommend it. These women are going to go far.
The best CD I've heard.
