Album Notes

Wet Fields is a musical picture, around 2010, of composer & guitarist Anthony Ocaña. It reveals what he was about at that time in life, musically and spiritually.
It comes with a two CD set. The very first album, entitled "Wet Fields", contains a studio recording of his most recent compositions for solo 6 & 10 string guitar, guitar with delays and guitar with voice. The second album entitled "En Vivo Palacio de Bellas Artes" contains a recording of a solo 6 & 10 string guitar concert, performed by Ocaña, that took place on "Palacio de Bellas Artes" Dominican Republic on August 8th 2009. This wonderful live performance summarizes the compositions from the albums "Anthony Ocaña" (2006), "Solo" (2008) and also "Wet Fields" (2010).

"As a composer, it is my passion to draw emotional landscapes. This is the constant spark that lights my inner fire and submerges me into creation. While in this state, my conscious awareness departs, the ideas emerge, and the music builds up. From time to time, the external awareness returns, and becomes an observer of the work done. It is permitted to make a few suggestions, and then it leaves, allowing my mysteries to enfold back into the creative work. At heart, there is an integration between conscious and subconscious in my music, and this is how I´m able to explain my true inner-self.

I am also inspired to write homages to the master musicians who have inspired me through my own journey. Most of the pieces in this album are dedicated to those artists, from whom I have taken the freedom to borrow something that resonates within me, in order to return it transformed anew.

I hope you are able to enjoy my music, to transcend every day reality, and to immerse yourself into these Wet Fields."
