ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is already a cult classic for its obsessive devotion to one person, Dexter Price, The Subway Kid. Dexter Price is merely two years old at this moment, but his spirit is ageless and his vast knowledge of the New York City subway system is unparalleled.

Two years in the making, these songs have been honed in front of an audience of one. Recorded on a humble four-track, the artist performed and recorded it herself with a small roster of guest stars.

The rhythm section recalls the loose-limbed grooves of Booker T & The MG's and the vocals are hot and cool and happy and hushed.

These songs are loaded with hooks. Written a capella, they are mercilessly infectious as all children's songs should be.
