After recording and touring for 3 years, Anchors has released the debut EP "Music From The Future" and is set to play everywhere in the US over several tours. The EP was produced and mixed by both Matt Goldman (Casting Crowns, Third Day, Underoath) and Matt Malpass (Rookie of the Year, Relient K, Copeland). Featuring Seth Hecox of Becoming The Archetype, Anchors is another outlet for Seth's musical creations and has been met with great critical reviews. Focusing on great songwriting and vocal harmonies backed by synthesizers and keyboards, Anchors provides fun and energetic rock/pop that fans can dance to and bob their heads. Anchors has generated much buzz on radio stations via the single "Airplane" and has kick-started the pop rock scene in the South already and will be touring this year all over America and the world!

I actually am not a fan of Coldplay, Deathcab, nor The Killers...yet I quite like this EP.
To me, much of the music released nowadays tends to sound rather bland. I am often at a loss as to why many bands form in the first place, as many seem like mediocre tributes to mediocre mainstream bands that were never worth my time. (Do I sound like a music snob yet? I'm not..really. I even like Andrew W.K., I mean COME ON.)
Anchors is/are not OMGWTFBBQ mindblowingly different, but there is no doubt a special character to their music-- and I think *that*, really, is what's most important for quality music. It's the sort of thing where if you heard their music on the radio, you'd know it was them.
I think what I appreciated most from this EP was its synthy kickbacks. 'Where the Houses Glow' and 'Virtue & Violence' (my favorite track) both have their moments that remind me of another great pop-rock album: The Anniversary's Designing A Nervous Breakdown.
Overall, I really enjoy Music from the Future. The only reason this didn't get five stars is because, for whatever reason, 'Airplane' didn't click for me. But would I recommend the EP to a friend? Oh heck yes I would. Especially since you can grab the it for $4 if you want to download it in MP3 form-- you'd be crazy nuts not to!
